A drive to nowhere from Revdanda, ended on Mandwa jetty! Not that we were planning to make the sea crossing to Mumbai.
But instead, what really interested us to the jetty were new restaurants and other developments that have been mushrooming over the past year or so.
Currently, there are 2 restaurants on the Jetty run by enterprising Mumbaikars who wanted to expand their horizons (quite literally). Boardwalk by Flamboyante which unfortunately was shut & Kiki’s Cafe.
Kiki’s cafe is a no nonsense “Mumbai-style cafe” with a lovely view of Mandwa beach at the back. You can sit on the terrace and look out at the ocean or sit inside the cool facade of the cafe and try some good food! The menu is mainly quick eating options like Pastas, Pizzas, coffees, shakes etc with a large dessert counter up front.
We tried the Penne in white sauce & Chili Chicken Rice Bowl followed by cold coffee. The food was tasty and the ambiance cozy. This could be perfect Valentine day outing.
After the late lunch, we decided to do some offroading and ended up on a back road in Revas. The road runs parallel to a very marshy beach and gives a 360-degree view of faraway islands lost in evening mist.
If you aren’t familiar with Alibaug or the road travel is too much; choose from the many ferry options from Gateway of India to Mandwa. If you decide to drive, inspect your GPS for correct navigation. Check the restaurant menus before making the long journey. Summer will be very hot, so be prepared for that.
Happy Valentine’s ❤️
